BAMILY WE USED TO HANG OUT

One of many current tracks to centre on the feeling of lockdown-induced loneliness is Bamily’s ‘We Used To Hang Out’. The band pride themselves on a DIY approach, creating a tapestry of hip-hop, pop and indie music and cementing every element of it together themselves. A nostalgic vocal is what holds the track together, but bright guitar melodies and a laid back drum groove push it to the next level. The band explain that the track was written at the start of lockdown: “I was feeling sort of emotional about not being able to see my pals and knew that I had to capture this strange feeling that the world was ending and put it in a song. As I was writing, my mind kept drifting back to the girl I had just finished seeing before the virus came. I knew that I wouldn’t see her for at least a few months now.” The band have an optimistically booked debut London show coming up on November 5th. -Dan Peeke
